Townscapes:

The organ in the cathedral at Rheims as it may have looked in 1429. The latter show an early model of the cathedral's organ, which was substantially different than the one there today. In 1429 the organ had three "turrets" separated by flat panels which were apparently subdivided into two sections at slightly different angles.
The current organ model contains about 5.2 million polygons, but usually renders at an acceptable framerate even on older computers, although the framerate slows dramatically when the entire organ is in view.

Below: another wide view of the top, from a point to the left of the central turret:

Below: a closer view of the central turret, looking upwards:

Below: still closer, focusing on the sculpted decoration flanking the left of the turret and the angel sculptures near the top:

Below: closer yet, this time showing the top of the central turret with a better view of the sculpture of the Virgin Mary and Jesus on the very top:

Below: a closeup view of the Virgin and Child statue on the top of the central turret. This image also shows the reflective gilding on the halos, and the illuminated dust from a light shaft in the background:

Below: the same statue from a different angle:

Below: A closer view of the wooden sculpted leaves and acorns near the top of the central turret:

Below: extreme closeup view of the same sculpted decorations, showing surface detail such as tiny bumps and wood grain relief patterns:

Below: the bottom of the organ, showing a line of sculpted female saints arranged around the bottom of the central turret:

Below: part of the front facet of the central turret, showing the sculpted leaves and acorns near the top of the pipes, sculpted angels, and projected colored light from stained glass windows:

Below: the right side of the central turret, showing the sculpted decoration connecting the turret to the right side panel, and part of the left turret:

Below: part of the right panel and right turret, viewed from a position near the central turret:

Below: part of the left turret, top of the left panel, and part of the central turret:

Below: a view of the entire organ from a distance:

Below: a wireframe grid showing major structures (not every polygon of course, as there are millions of them):

Older images from an earlier stage in the project:

Below: a closer view of the wooden sculpted leaves and acorns near the top of the organ pipes:

Below: still closer view of the sculptures:

Below: extreme closeup view of the sculpted acorns and leaves, showing surface detail such as tiny bumps and wood grain relief patterns:

Below: three images of some of the wooden angel sculptures with gilded wings and halos on the left side of the central turret, and projected light from stained glass windows:
