Call for Papers: Symposium of Coins of... The British Academy's annual Symposium of Coins of the British Isles will be conducted via online Zoom conference on 30 August 2021, on the topic of medieval practice of issuing counterfeit coinage. Papers can cover issues such as : who was responsible for creating coin imitations? How large was the scale of counterfeit production? How often were counterfeit coins accepted by merchants and others? What were the repercussions of counterfeit coinage? Abstracts should be up to 150 words.
